Xena + ReDI School Of Digital Integration Launch Women In Tech Program

Would you like to join our mentorship program?

Have you ever dreamed, or even taunted with the idea of changing careers and getting into technology? Making a career change is an undeniably scary and disruptive task to take on. It may even seem totally impossible or unlikely if you’ve spent your entire career in a different industry. Luckily for you, there are tons of free coding workshops and bootcamps out there to keep up with the demand for jobs in tech. One that should be on your radar is ReDI School of Digital Integration.

ReDI School of Digital Integration is a non-profit tech school for locals and newcomers without access to digital education. Their aim is to provide their students with valuable digital skills and a strong network of tech leaders, students and alumni to help create new opportunities for all. 50% is what you know….50% is who you know. Without a network, finding a job can be really challenging – even with tech skills. That’s why ReDI School is not only offering technical skills but also a professional network.

As you may know by now, Xena is committed to supporting the number of women accessing technology. That’s why we are proud to partner with ReDI School to donate 12.5% of our profits to launch a Python and Data & Analytics Program for women who are interested in a career in tech.

But behind every student success story is a kind, supportive and enthusiastic mentor who always has your back. Now more than ever, mentorship has an important role to play. And that is why we are on the hunt for mentors who would like to offer their expertise.

So the question we are asking you is, do you want to share your experience, your network and your knowledge to support the progression of women in technology? Are you passionate about people and thrive in helping others achieve their goals? If the answer is yes, then here is everything you need to know about Xena and ReDI School’s Mentorship Program for women in tech.

What to expect?

By getting involved you will be offering your support to students in 1:1 sessions on their Python and Data Analytics learning and career journey. Not a Python and Data & Analytics guru? No problem, you can still become a mentor without a Python and Data & Analytics skillset by becoming the much-needed soundboard our students will need to get them through the program.

When?

Mentorship matches will commence from the end of April – August. Once you sign up, our mentorship team will reach out with more info.

Requirements

Experience/and or knowledge of Python and Data Analytics is a bonus but not essential.

Time Commitment?

This program is flexible to match your availability and schedule. Each mentor and mentee will agree on their own time commitment that is realistic to achieve, with the recommended mentorship sessions lasting between 1-2 hours.

Where?

The best thing about this program is anyone can become a mentor, from anytime or any place. You’ll be matched with your mentee using the ReDI Connect platform. You can agree with your mentee whether you can/want to meet in person or use an online tool of your choice for your communication.

Support sought?

Wondering what exactly you’ll be helping your mentee with? Here are 5 things you can do which will literally change someone’s world:

  • Set educational/professional/personal goals
  • Help mentee build a professional network
  • Help with internship/job applications
