Xena Women in Tech Awards: The CTO Award 2023
Are you a leader that places technology at the heart of the business?
A CTO or Chief Technology Officer is the highest rank of technical leaders, they are the gatekeepers regarding which technology gets pursued and brings together all the technical teams from Data, to DevOps, Machine Learning, and Software/Product Development. On top of this, a CTO is also a people manager and must create an impact on the company’s top line through the innovative use of technology whilst driving customer value and results.
With technology being one of the largest and most future-proof industries out there, it is important that women are not on the sidelines. Unfortunately, the ugly truth is that only 6.6% of CTOs out there are female – it’s no surprise that this extremely influential position within the industry requires diverse representation ASAP.
That’s why we are proud to team up with GetYourGuide, to celebrate the CTOs shattering the status quo and creating space for the progression of women and marginalised groups. As our friends at GetYourGuide provide a platform for people all over the world to discover and have unforgettable experiences, we are excited to provide a podium for all tech leaders who continue to discover effective ways to integrate technology into firm strategy, and break the glass ceiling in the process.

Why GetYourGuide sponsors this award
“Diversity & Inclusion is at the heart of our culture, consisting of 75+ nationalities spread over 17 different offices. As per our D&I principles, this is a shared responsibility, and it’s owned by everyone. At GetYourGuide we believe that being a diverse and inclusive company is paramount to the success, engagement and growth of our people and company. We are constantly working to improve conditions that create a diverse, equal, and inclusive workplace where employees feel a sense of belonging and can bring their authentic selves to work. One integral part of our D&I work at GetYourGuide is to grow women into more senior leadership positions. This is something I am personally passionate about, which lead me to co-found ‘Incredible Women’, an employee group that is aiming at exactly that, growing women into seniority and empowering them to own their growth. During the last 12 months only, we have hosted fireside talks with Women board members, women in tech meetups, sessions with external trainers, etc, and this is something I am immensely proud of.”
