Xena Women in Tech Awards: The Allyship Award 2023
The true pathway to equality in tech – vote now
For those of you who don’t understand the concept of an ally, allow us to explain. An ally is someone who is not a member of an underrepresented group but who takes action to support that group. You’ll probably have guessed by now that the underrepresented group we’re referring to is women in tech. Without having the support of people who hold positions of prilivelge can we truly close the gender gap in tech. We need more active allies for women who have less access – it’s that simple.
In an industry that is more male-dominated than ever, it’s important that we celebrate the male allies who go above and beyond to address the challenges that women in tech face. That’s why we’ve teamed up with Delivery Hero, the world’s largest food-ordering network to champion the men who are making minorities a priority. Are you with us?
So who is the Allyship Award for?
Nominees should be:
1. A male leader who identities as he/him or they
2. Based in Europe
3. Demonstrated a passion for equality, diversity and inclusion in tech
4. Is a champion for promoting the work of women in technology with quantitative evidence to support this
5. Acknowledges the impact of unconscious bias on the progression of women in the industry
Who can nominate?
ANYONE. We encourage you to nominate yourself, your colleague, a friend, your manager or an ally in tech who inspires you.
Why should you nominate an ally?
Not only will this person be crowned the ally leader of the year, but they will also receive some epic prizes from our partners. So what are you waiting for? Nominate a leader here.
